Senior Christmas Tea Party

A performance from the chamber choir, homemade mince pies and crackers shared with new friends were all enjoyed at the annual Senior Christmas Tea Party hosted by the school

In partnership with the Burnham Health Promotion Trust, we welcomed over 70 elderly residents from the village have an afternoon of festive fun on Wednesday.

There was a variety of musical performances, as well as a quiz for the tables to compete over, along with the opportunity to mingle with the sixth form students who were the hosts for the event.

Miss Billingham, who organised the afternoon, said: “It was a wonderful afternoon. The students enjoyed themselves as much as the guests. It was a whole school effort to make sure every guest was valued; with them all being able to take home a gift that had been put together by form groups across the school. A huge thank you to the Burnham Health Promotion Trust and senior prefect team for helping to make this a truly enjoyable party.”

The school and BHPT have run the parties in partnership for several years, with the charity which is based in the Burnham Health Centre in Minniecroft Road, inviting residents who may be alone over the Christmas period, whether they be in care homes or living alone.
