Parent Governor Elections

Today, hard copy letters and ballot papers have been sent home with students for the school’s parent governor election. Governors play an extremely important role in the strategic leadership of the School and your vote is important.

There will be a meeting at the school on Thursday 25 April at 6pm when all parents will be welcome to attend in order to meet the candidates prior to casting their vote in the postal ballot. I would like to clarify that there is only one vacancy for a parent governor this time.

Please indicate your vote on the ballot paper. We have two candidates competing for one place. All parents and carers are entitled to vote and may vote for one candidate only. You may not cast more than one vote for any candidate and parents with more than one child on roll are not entitled to more votes.

The ballot paper should be returned to school in the envelope provided either via your child, or if you wish, through the post. Please mark the envelope ‘Parent Governor Election’ and for the attention of Miss Billingham, Dr Gillespie's PA.

Dr Gillespie will be the returning officer for this election, and the candidates, or their representatives, will be entitled to attend the count. The result of the election will be notified to all parents within seven days of the election.

All ballot papers should be received by Friday 3 May 2019 by 4pm when the election is due to take place.

Ballot papers received after this date will not be counted. Please also note that votes cast only on the original ballot paper provided will be accepted. Any photocopies of the ballot paper or submission of vote by any other means will not be counted.

Dr Gillespie would like to take this opportunity to thank the candidates for being prepared to volunteer their time and skills to ensure the continued success and development of the school.
