Another great year of GCSE results!

Burnham Grammar School has produced another great year of GCSE results! Two-thirds of our students have achieved 5 or more A*-A grades, and a quarter of our students have straight A and A* grades. 53% of all our GCSE grades were A*- A grades.

Dr Andy Gillespie comments: We’re very proud of our students’ achievements: they have worked really hard and hit their targets. I’d like to thank my staff for their enduring support, inside and beyond the classroom, giving our students the confidence and tools to succeed. I’d also thank our parents for their support and encouragement.

Top female was Georgia Wedgbury who was delighted with her 11 A* grades. Top male was Payas Sinha with 10 A* and an A** distinction in his GCSE Additional Maths. He said he was initially nervous about opening the results envelope but then happy and amazed. He had been particularly concerned about his History result but needn’t have worried and was delighted to find out he had scored an impressive 100%!

Twins Pritesh and Prateek Patel scored 14 A* and 6 A grades between them. When asked what was the secret of their success Prateek says whilst they revised apart, being able to support and test each other really helped, and of course they became competitive about how many hours they spent preparing for the exams.
