Year Nine A Team take the Chiltern District Netball Tournament title

On Wednesday 8th March, the Year 9A team went to Kingsmead for the U14 Chiltern District Netball tournament.  There were six teams in our pool and we won them all, playing particularly well against Misbourne B.

Brilliant shooting from Katie Sawyer and Emilie Secker meant that we won this game 13-0. We had two particularly challenging games in our pool, one being against Chalfont Community College and the other being against Dr Challoner’s.

These games were tough but we won them both by 2 goals, greatly helped by Maisie Day's excellent stamina and tight defence.  We then got through to the semi-finals where we played against Misbourne A.  Gracie Moore and Tia Benaim bringing the ball up the court efficiently along with Esther Sogbesan making lots of tips and interceptions ensured us a convincing win of 10-2.

We were through to the final against Dr Challoner’s.  Even though we had beaten them in our pool, we knew that they would step up their game for the final. The game was tense and the goals were going up alternately, however excellent teamwork from Hope Dandjinou and Emily Brown in the defensive circle resulted in a two goal win of 6-4.

We were very proud of this result because it was the first time in 12 years a team other than Beaconsfield High had won this tournament.  On behalf of the whole team, we would like to say thank you to Miss Knibbs for organising the tournament and coaching us over the past three years; we couldn't have done it without her support.
