Last night the school saw an all round celebration of the creative arts which are created and performed by our students across all year groups.
The inaugural Made in BGS Creativity Evening was a great success with members of the public able to view the variety of work which is produced in our classrooms.
Organised by our year 12 students, with help from Mrs Garner, visitors were able to walk through a timeline of work from art and design and technology from year seven all the way to furniture creation in the sixth form.
Talented musicians played throughout the evening nearly non stop, with a mix of their favourite songs which were met with great praise. Well done to Mr Spence and his players.
In the hall, we had year nine drama pupils displaying physical theatre, inspired by the professional theatre group Frantic Theatre. It sees the use of body language in performance become the focus rather than the spoken word.
The evening though would not have been complete without a fantastic array of refreshments which were all freshly made on the day by our Cookery Club members. From mini cupcakes, courgette cakes, mini tacos, french macaroons, and jelly pots, there was something for everyone to enjoy. All visitors noted how brilliant the food was, so well done to all the hard workers who pulled that off in time!
The Creativity Evening was a fantastic showcase of the creative arts which take place within school. We hope that this will become an annual event so everyone can see what has been created and produced throughout the school year.
