Tours of the Lonza labs were also given to all the students to show them aspects of the pharmaceutical research the company undertakes.

Jon Cook, Head of Analytical Services at Lonza, who acted as head judge for the event, said, “The scientific standard of all the presentations was exceptionally high, and the students should be very proud of their achievements. It was particularly pleasing to see the student’s enthusiasm and passion on such a diverse range of subjects. It would be great to think that some of these students may one day be part of Lonza’s growing pool of talent.”

Adeola from Year 13 was awarded the title of Senior Scientist of the Year for her presentation titled "Is Dementia Preventable?" Year 10 students Gayatri and Kiran were given the prize of Junior Scientists of the Year for their presentation about "Fossil Fuels and Alternative Renewable Energy."

All winners were given a trophy and an Amazon voucher, with runners-up also being given a voucher. All finalists were awarded framed certificates to mark their achievement.
