The Sixth Form Muslim Student Association were proud to host the annual Iftar night, which brought together students and staff to break fasts during the Holy month of Ramdan. The event welcomed both muslims and non muslims creating an opportunity to learn about the significance of Ramdan to many muslims at Burnham Grammar.

Sharing a meal as a community created a warm and welcoming atmosphere where students felt connected as a school.
Students participation saw them recite pieces from the Qur’an, highlighting the importance of students being active citizens and getting involved in events important to them.
Mohammed Nasir, a BGS alumni, also joined us through the evening, as he gave an insightful speech and shared his knowledge about the topic of Ramadan, the blessings of it and what could be learnt from it. He signified the importance of Ramadan, beyond just fasting from sunrise to sunset. People were given the opportunity to learn about its focus on kindness, charity and self-reflection, and encourage empathy for those who may not always have enough food or resources.
We are grateful to everyone who attended and helped to make the evening a memorable event and inspiring for the younger students.
Thank you to Mrs Bola and the heads of MSA for their enormous efforts in organising an incredible experience.
