Year 7 Engineering Day - Heathrow Workshop

7 May 2026
Heathrow 01On Thursday 30th April, our Year 7 students participated in the annual Year 7 Heathrow Engineering Day. We were delighted to welcome Mr Asad Parkar, our school governor and Engineering Manager at Heathrow Airport, accompanied by his colleagues, Mr Alex Reed and Mr Andrew Cruickshank. They provided students with valuable insights into the behind-the-scenes work of the Heathrow Airport engineering team.

As part of the programme, students took part in a practical challenge to design and construct the tallest control tower using only plain paper. This activity encouraged creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.

The day was a highly enriching experience, offering students the opportunity to explore engineering in a real-world context while developing key skills such as teamwork and critical thinking. We extend our sincere thanks to Mr Parkar and his team for delivering such an engaging and informative event.
