Welcome

Message from Head of Sixth Form

Welcome to the Sixth Form at Burnham Grammar School. With around 370 students we are a popular sixth form with a vibrant and diverse community.

The majority of our students stay on from Year 11 into the Sixth Form and are joined by about 40 new students in Year 12.

Most of our students’ study three subjects at A Level and participate in the Enrichment programme that includes the Extended Project Qualification, BGS Mind Ambassadors and Young Enterprise. A minority of student’s study 4 A levels, for which there is a higher capped GCSE points target. The majority of our students aim to apply for universities and/or degree apprenticeships which involve offers typically based on three subjects. Our specialist A-Level teachers are committed to helping every student excel and achieve their best possible grades.

In the Sixth Form, students are encouraged to embrace challenge and take full advantage of the wide range of opportunities available at Burnham Grammar School. These experiences will help them develop the skills, confidence and resilience needed to be fully prepared for the future. Our aim is to empower every student with the self-belief and sense of purpose to shape their own future and make a meaningful contribution as young adults.
