Visit of Lycée Feuillade to BGS - Tuesday 6th and Thursday 8th January 2026
On Tuesday 6th and Thursday 8th January 42 students and 4 staff were welcomed to BGS from the Lycée Feuillade, Lunel, France continuing a long-standing tradition of welcoming them and offering an opportunity to experience teaching and learning in a UK school. This is a part of a week-long visit for the students together with cultural activities and visits elsewhere including the centre of London. Visiting students were welcomed and guided around the school by volunteers from Years 12 giving an insight into the life of students at BGS and the French students then participated in two lessons varying from Year 7-12 covering all curriculum subjects.
On Thursday morning there was a bilingual activity in which the visiting students collaborated with the Year 9 French (GCSE) class from BGS asking and answering questions and sharing information about school life in the UK and France. At breaktime there was also a BGS v Lycéé Feuillade basketball match with visiting students playing against a team of Year 10 students which was very exciting and highly competitive.
In addition to the lessons and sport, teachers exchanged letters which had been sent by students BGS and Lycée Feuillade which will then be replied to and sent between the schools for the rest of the year.
It was a very positive experience for students of both schools and the BGS community made the staff and students from the Lycée Feuillade very welcome.
Many thanks to all staff and student volunteers involved!
