Paralympian Ian Rose pays a visit to the school

Demonstrating the pose of your favourite superhero, to working out the fasted way to get 12 students through a hula hoop put the key stage three students to the test on Friday.

Paralympic Judo medallist Ian Rose came to the school on Friday (December 2) to work on areas of teamwork, focus, commitment and confidence with groups of students.

Ian guided the students through a series of activities boosting their confidence while having fun and learning to be good winners, learn from losses and to always stay focused.

He showed off what all this hard work can result in - medals from two Paralympic Games - and that all the skills combined are what is needed to achieve goals, or each student's cup of best.

Mr Banin, who joined in with the students, said: "We really enjoyed having Ian visit our school as part of the Sky Sports Living for Sport programme on Friday.

"He gave a really inspiring talk to Year 7 and 8 students in assembly about achieving their own "cup of best" and constantly moving forward by setting challenging goals.

"Ian then spent Periods 1 and 2 with our Social Footballers, followed by motivating the new GCSE PE students in Year 9 during Period 3. We are looking forward to welcoming Ian back later in the school year."

Thank you to Ian for joining us, we look forward to seeing you in May.
