On Wednesday 21st June 2023, 70 Year 8 pupils travelled to the NEC in Birmingham for the Big Bang Science fair.

They took part in a wide range of exhibits from organisations in industry and education, such as National Grid, Nissan, Spec savers, Royal Air Force, BBC and numerous universities.

Activities on offer included virtual reality experiences, driving robots, coding drones, presenting a mock TV broadcast, performing a mock ear examination and simulating radioactive emissions using a Nerf gun.

Students saw a wide range of careers ideas relating to STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) and saw many concepts from their science lessons brought to life.

It was an incredible trip and opportunity for our Year 8 students!
