Our Y13 students – Jasvin, Hanna & Vedashree - have successfully achieved a Gold CREST award for their project on ‘How does caffeine content vary within drinks and its antimicrobial effects?’.
They have put a lot of thought and effort into this research, successfully combining two enquiries within chemistry and microbiology to create a high standard interdisciplinary research project.
They have particularly excelled in experimental design, handling of setbacks, and clear and structured report writing. Few things that stood out according to their CREST assessor: literature review, detailed methodology, risk assessment, and in depth data analysis and evaluation particularly comparing to secondary data to strengthen their conclusion. Their CREST assessor also mentioned that their style reflects of published research papers – which is excellent!
