Year 10 Business students, Mr Madarbukus and a team of intrepid staff boarded a coach bound for Cadbury World.
Anticipation ran high, would there be free chocolate? How much would/could they eat? Would there be unmissable deals? Was there a chance to try new products before they hit the shelves? And, the question foremost in everyone's mind - Would they make it back to BGS without anyone overindulging and forcing the coach to stop?
We caught up with Izabela, who told us all about her day. Here's what she said:
"We started our day with some chocolate, how yum! And were then led through to a gallery explaining how cocoa beans were first discovered, the history of chocolate and about Cadburys' history as a business; we learned that Cadburys started off as a small family company and grew to a global business. After that we were shown how they make chocolate from the cocoa beans. We went and tried some more chocolate with some toppings (very delicious) and had the pleasant opportunity to write with chocolate! We had a go at tempering chocolate, which I found lots of fun!!
After this, we experienced the 4D cinema, which meant we watched a story about chocolate, with some moving chairs. After the cinema we went on a ride! We were tasked to shoot at the ingredients we needed to make chocolate! Upon exiting the ride, we were all pleased to discover that we were going to be given even more chocolate! Afterwards, we went to the shop where they were selling chocolate at unmissable prices.
During lunchtime we got to enjoy the playground, where everyone joined in a game of it! Everyone felt included and it was great fun.
Finally, we listened to a talk where an employee talked to us about Cadburys, it was a great way to learn about a day to day business and we had the opportunity to ask questions in abundance, which I feel developed me as an individual. I would highly recommend this trip, it was such a wonderful experience, and I really enjoyed myself."
Izabela is in Ali house, a GCSE Business, Spanish, Art and Design Technology student, a volunteer Librarian and a Diversity Prefect. Izabela aspires to a career in business and hopes to be a CEO one day.
