Teikyo School Visit to Burnham Grammar School!

Following many years of successful and enjoyable visits of BGS students to Teikyo Foundation school for the Japanese Day, it was now time for the experience to be reciprocated.

On Monday 29th January 30 students and 4 staff came to spend a morning at Burnham Grammar School to gain a better understanding of the learning experience in a British school.

Students were divided into groups and followed a timetable of lessons participating in classes with Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 while also having the opportunity to meet Sixth Form students and have lunch with them and be guided around the school during breaktime.

The BGS volunteers from Y9, Y12 and Y13 were a credit to the school and fully embodied the school ethos and values of active citizenship and caring individuals ensuring the Japanese students and teachers had a positive and rewarding experience.

The visiting teachers and students said it was a fantastic experience and likened the positive buzz of life in the BGS building and people in the corridors to that of a Japanese underground station!

We now look forward to hosting the Teikyo students again in future and taking Year 8 students back for another Japanese Day in October continuing the special link between the two schools.

Many thanks to all staff and students who contributed to the day.
