IMPACT Club

IMPACT Club is a student led club which raise awareness of environmental issues.

IMPACT Club is a student-led environmental initiative guided by Mrs Yasmeen. It provides a platform for young people to take meaningful action on environmental issues, lead sustainability projects, and inspire positive change across the school community. The club encourages creativity, leadership, and teamwork while empowering students to make a real difference.

What does the club involve?

  • Raising awareness of environmental issues through assemblies, campaigns, and student-led events.
  • Improving the school and wider community by promoting sustainable habits and organising hands-on eco-projects.
  • Taking on leadership roles, especially for senior members who help plan, coordinate, and deliver initiatives.
  • Collaborating with like-minded students and staff who share a passion for protecting the planet.
  • Designing, developing, and running sustainability projects from initial idea to real-world impact.
  • Encouraging whole-school participation in environmental activities and eco-friendly practices.

  • Join us at an IMPACT meeting in G21 , everyone is welcome.
  • No prior environmental knowledge is needed; just bring enthusiasm and curiosity.
  • Share ideas, help with projects, or simply come along to learn and get involved.

What has IMPACT Club achieved?

  • Introduced paper recycling bins in classrooms
  • Supported students entering the Young Environmentalist Competition.
  • Delivered whole-school assemblies on sustainability.
  • Led House assemblies focused on environmental action.
  • Celebrated Sustainability Tog Day to promote eco-friendly habits.
  • Trialled Meat-Free Mondays to help reduce our carbon footprint.
  • Began working towards achieving the Green Flag Award.
  • Organised a project to clean and restore the school field.
  • Designed and built a bird house to support local wildlife.
  • Ran an art competition to raise awareness about reducing paper use and preventing litter.
  • Attended the annual Environmental Conference at Sir William Borlase Grammar School, taking part in workshops and discussions on a range of environmental topics and bringing back new ideas for future projects.
  • Campaigned for reduced paper use and introduced recycled paper.
  • And much more over the years.
