Paralympian Ian Rose goes through the Six Steps to Success

A group of year seven, eight and ten's were treated to a second visit by Paralympian Ian Rose.

Mr Rose, who has won medals at two Olympic games in Judo, came in for the day on Friday May 26 to work with the same group of boys he met last December.

Mr Banin said: "Ian came back in to school for his second visit as part of the Sky Sports Living for Sport programme. Working with the same group as in December, Ian spent some time in the classroom in the morning, looking at the "6 keys to success":
  1. Mental toughness
  2. Hunger to achieve
  3. People skills
  4. Sports and life knowledge
  5. Breaking barriers
  6. Planning for success

"The students then got an opportunity to take part in a variety of team building activities and physical games, to see how they could put these 'keys' to good use. After break, the students got an opportunity to try out some judo and learn from a Paralympian in this sport.

"Hopefully, each student will go away from this session with a greater level of confidence. As well as this, they should be able to reflect on how to achieve their personal best across different aspects of their school and personal life."
