Getting to know each other at Space Camp

110 new students came to Space Camp, an initiative for students to gain confidence and make new friends to ease transition into their new school, plus to have fun and discovering all about space and fitness.

Included in the week has been launching rockets, visiting Burnham Beeches for orienteering, fitness and trust exercises, drama, writing and film making. Plus hurling eggs off heights to find out all about safe landings - or not! Making survival space structures for landing on Mars also got top marks from the students.

A visit to Intech Museum in Winchester with lots of hands-on science and a planetarium was just amazing according to one of our trainee astronauts!

I've made new friends and am looking forward to Burnham Grammar coming in September
