During the Summer holidays, nineteen BGS students from Year 11 and 12 had an amazing opportunity to complete an eleven-day expedition in Sumatra, Indonesia. 

It was an action-packed trip! Students completed project work with the Orangutan Haven, trekked in Gunung Leuser National Park for orangutans, explored the bat caves and rubber plantations. They slept in hammocks in the jungle, took part in river tubing, and were transported by a motorised boat to Sikunder to complete a jungle trek. 

All students adapted very well to basic accommodation, eating lots of rice and washing in the rivers! 

It was a truly memorable trip which will last a lifetime. The students did BGS proud!
