Congratulations to our Lonza Scientists of the Year!

Earlier this term, a group of Y10 and Y13 pupils recently visited the pharmaceuticals manufacturer Lonza in Slough to take part in the annual Scientist of the Year competition.

They had previously been selected on the basis of their winning science essays. Y10 presented their research in pairs, and Y13 individually, and delivered them to a judging panel of scientists at Lonza Slough.

Pupils were also given a tour of the manufacturing facilities - a rare and valuable opportunity to see real-world science in action and to talk to science professionals about their careers. The judging teams were all agreed that the standard of presentations was very high and the pupils were a credit to the school.

Congratulations to the winners, and all of the finalists for the effort that they put into their presentations:

Senior Scientist of the Year (Y13) :

Winner: Gurunek D (Einsteinian Gravity)

Finalists: Grace M (Antimicrobial Resistance), Milena P (CRISPR)

Junior Scientist of the Year (Y10) :
