A Successful Year 10 Work Experience Week 2023!

Last Week Year 10 students took part in their Year 10 Work Experience Week.

Over a three-day period, students took part in a range of activities to prepare them for the world of work.

Day one of this week, consisted of Mock Interview & Career Discussion Sessions with professional & BGS parent volunteers. Students were able to talk in groups amongst a professional volunteer and learn interview techniques for the world of work and talk to our volunteers about their current careers. Thank you to all of our BGS Parent Volunteers that took part in this activity.

Students then throughout the week had talks from The University of Surrey, CXK Apprenticeships & The London Interdisciplinary School, discussing university and apprenticeship options available to them Post 16.

On Day two of work experience week, students either were on placements for 'Take your child to work day' or at Henkel in Hemel Hempstead. At Henkel, students had the opportunity to meet employees and learn of the different career pathways within the organisation. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to see a global organisation and their day-to-day work.

On Day 3, we then welcomed back to Burnham Grammar School a number of BGS Alumni Speakers, to talk and deliver carousel workshop sessions to our Year 10 students. We welcomed back Alumni from the NHS, ITV News Meridian, The British Army & Willis Towers Watson. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to meet past students and learn from their journeys and also learn about the careers pathways they can aspire too.

Thank you to all of our community that were involved in making this week possible!

We hope you had a wonderful Work Experience Week!
