Year 9 Boys win Slough School's Football Cup

The Year 9 Boys ran out 8-1 winners vs St. Bernard’s Grammar in the Final of the Slough Schools’ Football Cup. This was a hugely impressive victory given that St. Bernard’s Grammar had recently reached a national schools’ cup final, and had narrowly beaten them to the league title weeks earlier.

Burnham played remarkably well, and it was their best performance of the season. They started the game with great tempo and found themselves 2-0 up after ten minutes. There was really only one team in the game from there, and the boys put together some sensational one touch football that was a joy to watch.

Man of the match was Alex McDowell, who was a constant menace on the right wing and terrorised the St. Bernard’s defence from start to finish.  This caps off a superb season for the year 9s and the P.E department were hugely proud of the manner in which they have represented the school all year.

Congratulations to Anhad Randhawa, Karl Quartey, Matt Williamson, Nrip Lama, Ted Salt, Lewis Albert, Alex McDowell, Ethan Gilmour, Joseph Barnieh-Owusu, Max Conaty, Archie Goodliff, Abi Akkaladevi, Ajay Tatla, Esosa Omoruyi, Luca Araguez, and Ramari Mayers.
