Will takes the South East Champion swimming title at his first regional competition

Getting in the pool six days a week and training as hard as he can has paid off for year 7 student, Will.

At the South East Regionals, Will won the title of South East Champion for 11 to 12 year old swimmers, and to make it more impressive, this was Will’s first regional competition.

Previously Will has won titles in the local area, but hopes to now go on to win more titles and try out for the national team when he turns 13.

At the competition, which was held at the K2 in Crawley, Will swam a personal best in the 200m breast stroke, and was 3.5 seconds faster than the second place swimmer in his 50m breast stroke swim.

Will is a member of the Maidenhead and Marlow Swimming Club, he has brothers and sisters who also swim competitively, with his sister trying out for the Olympics and his brother soon jetting off to the Bahamas for a competition soon.

A huge congratulations to Will, we look forward to watching you progress.
